The Steppas Drop Title Track “King for a Day” from Upcoming Album

Byline: Allie Adams

The Steppas released a new song! And they’re about to drop an album! And they have a Kickstarter to bring it to you sooner than later! So much good news for these boys from Hawai’i, but first things first: their new jam “King for a Day” is the swingy island reggae we all know and love, with some heavy fresh guitar riffs added for good measure and listening pleasure. Star Alaniz, lead vocals and guitar, resurrected this throwback song written while with his previous group, Downstar, circa 2006. “King for a Day” is the title track from their upcoming album Journey of Roads, slated to drop in January if the Kickstarter goal is achieved by Friday (wanna get in on the action? Click HERE the rewards are dooope). Always a band that honors their roots, this album was recorded at their home studio in Hilo and features two surprise special guests from Jamaica and Hawai’i, respectively. They also produced a song with Noah Cronin, Royce Kaneshiro and Calvin Canha of Sea Major Seven Studios in Honolulu.

Catch them as they kick off their west coast tour supporting Rebel Souljahz in Portland, Oregon January 25 at the Wonder Ballroom. Anddddd be sure to catch their first festival appearance of 2018 at One Love Cali Reggae Fest February 10-11.

“King for a Day” is available on all digital media outlets including Spotify, YouTube and Apple Music.
